Justin Virgili, PhD
VP of Engineering
Justin has over 15 years of experience in materials science and has most recently led and contributed to the development of novel polymeric materials at The Dow Chemical Company. Justin holds a number of issued and pending patents and has expertise in polymer synthesis, structure-property elucidation and application development in a variety of material systems. He has BS degrees in Chemical Engineering and Biology from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from U.C. Berkeley.
Bob has over 30 years of experience as a CFO and has served as CFO of several high-tech venture-backed companies, most recently NetBase Solutions, a leading social media analytics company. Bob has managed 3 IPO’s, a secondary offering and several early and late-stage Venture Capital financings. He has managed the acquisition and sale of companies, products, divisions and product lines. Bob has worked with investors and Board members of several prominent venture capital firms including Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia Capital, Sierra Ventures, Austin Ventures and Granite Global. Bob has a BSBA degree from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO.

Ryosuke has over 30 years of advanced materials experience with a focus on product and process development. Prior to his tenure at Tactus, Ryosuke worked at Panasonic, Western Digital, Quantum Corp, Konica and Ampex and most recently served as a technical consultant focusing on coating technology. He holds a BE, Physical Chemistry degree from Chiba University and is a named inventor on over 75 issued patents.

Nahid has over 30 years of experience in manufacturing, most recently as VP, Global Manufacturing Engineering and Quality at SORAA. Prior to SORAA, she was Executive Director at Seagate Technology in a global role where she increased product yields, performance and efficiency while reducing operational cost, waste and expenses within volume manufacturing and product development. Nahid holds a Six Sigma Black Belt Certification and holds a BS, Chemistry degree from California State University.
Jonghan Choi, Phd

Jonghan has over 20 years of innovation management, most recently with MacDermid Graphic Solutions where he led the R&D team for commercialization of the innovative clean printing plate. Jonghan has been awarded 6 US patents in photo-polymer formulations and applications and he is a Six Sigma Black Belt. He holds a BS in Polymer Science and Engineering from Dankook and a PhD, Polymer Engineering from the University of Akron.

Adrianne has over 25 years of start-up experience holding various management, financial and people operation roles. She has worked with SaaS, manufacturing, semiconductor, and media companies throughout the Bay Area. Prior to Tactus, Adrianne spent time at OpenGov, MyBuys, Rocket Fuel, CellScope, Vitex Systems, Addison-Field, and Redwood Microsystems.

Umesh is a Venture Partner at Thomvest Ventures focused on investments in the cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure sectors and working closely with founders and CEOs developing disruptive platform solutions. He currently serves as a Board Member at Avalanche Technology, Bolster, ShiftLeft, and Tactus Technology, and as a Board Observer at Clari and ShieldX. He is also an investor in Baffle and ThousandEyes. Umesh holds a Bachelor’s in Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai and a Master’s in Engineering from Stanford University. He has served on several advisory boards at Stanford University and currently serves on the board of Palo Alto Medical Foundation and Sutter Pacific Group.
Chris is the founding general partner of Pangaea Ventures and has helped entrepreneurs change the world for over 25 years. Chris is based in Phoenix. He sits on the boards of several portfolio companies and, until 2001, Chris was a partner with Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt, specializing in environmental and corporate law. Chris has been on the board of the Canadian Venture Capital Association and several non-profits. Chris is an avid runner and skier and an average golfer.
Nobuyuki Kambe Phd
Dr. Kambe is a Partner and co-founder of Phoenix Venture Partners (PVP). He is a distinguished inventor and serial entrepreneur with deep expertise in nanomaterials. Dr. Kambe has over 50 issued patents and is the founder of three successful startups, Nanogram Devices (acquired), Neophotonics (IPO), and Nanogram Corporation (acquired). Earlier in his career, Dr. Kambe was a Research Manager in semiconductor and carbon nanomaterials and devices at Nippon Telegraph & Telephone (NTT) where he became Senior Manager of New Business Strategy. Dr. Kambe was also a Managing Director at the International Center for Materials Research (ICMR) in Japan and was the founder of ICMR-USA. He earned his BS and MS from Keio University and his PhD from MIT.
